Special Events

Sumbawa is an island of tradition and magic, where visitors may see local celebrations including water buffalo races. Dukun, or shaman, are active participants in these spiritual events. All-night wedding ceremonies are preceded by a procession of all of the groom's relatives to the village of his bride.
